Together we increase the global supply of sustainable fish

The Fish Tales Foundation supports the Fish Tales mission: enjoying the tastiest fish, now and in the future! We do this by working with small-scale fisheries to promote sustainability. In the markets where our fish ends up, we provide consumers with information about the importance of choosing sustainable fish. This way, we increase the global supply and ensure a better world with healthier oceans!

Disco Tuna

Pole and line fisheries are highly dependent on live bait. This IPNLF project investigates whether they can imitate live bait with light and sound - A kind of underwater disco! When the tuna see these lights, their hunting instinct is activated, and they bite the hooks. If this works, less live bait will be needed to catch tuna. This means fishermen can fish more efficiently and less live bait needs to be caught.

- who we are -
The Fish Tales foundation was established to support the Fish Tales mission

We want to ensure that the oceans remain a healthy source of food and income for all who depend on fishing for their livelihood: the fishing communities, the fishermen, and their families. Together with them and local organizations, we work on social and/or environmental improvements.
